"I've been in love and I still am, I have been to hell before and it was nothing but tragic, I have been hurt but I have to be stronger and I will fight to protect my family longer and longer."
--April Grey
April Grey

History

Background

April Grey was born the daughter of Dr. John Grey and Elaine Grey and the sister of Jean Grey. Before joining the X-Men, she lived with her family in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, where Dr. Grey worked as a history professor at Bard College. April and Jean are the only member of their immediate family with mutant abilities (their niece and nephew, Joey and Gailyn, are also revealed as mutants). Her powers first manifest at the age of ten, prematurely triggered when her and Jean's best friend, Annie Richards, is hit by a car. April does everything she can to stop her from dying but when a car comes and almost hits April, she freezes it, surprised with her power to stop time she then accidentally blew up the street light. As she continues helping her friend, Jean feels her pain and falls into a coma, nearly dying and April goes to get help. April was a very smart girl who was scared of her powers, she shielded herself from her family because she was afraid she would blow them up or hurt them, her family took her to local psychologists to get her help but she was angry she was going and she blew up the psychologists' office. April locked herself in her room like she was in a prison, except when she went to school. One day a girl made fun of her because of her powers and April got so angry she used her powers on her and almost blew her up whole. April was even more scared of her powers and her principal sent her home.

Help from Xavier

After the accident at her school, April's parents sought out the expertise of specialists for her and Jean, of whom only Professor Charles Xavier is able to help. Xavier uses April in the infirmary since she wanted to be a doctor like her father and she was very good at it. One fateful day, April falls unconscious, the Professor went into her mind to try to help her but he saw April becoming a powerful being who controlled all molecular powers, the Professor blocked these powers from manifesting into her because she was to young to have a power like that and waited until she was mature enough to control it, the Professor did the same with Jean when during one fateful session on the astral plane Jean senses a young Scott Summers in the orphanage and an aspect of her mind, manifesting in the form of a golden Phoenix raptor, reaches out to him. April uses the Cerebro machine and nearly kills herself, the next day, the Professor goes to visit a boy named John Summers, a boy who has the power to manipulate or create fire, April quickly becomes attracted to this student and he grows one for her, John becomes very protective of her, and starts falling in love with her. April helped the Professor fix up the Danger Room and one day accidentally access the room, April was going against powerful mutants who some were invincible to her power and this made her so scared and angry that the Professor's blocks in her mind were almost destroyed and she almost blew up the whole mansion, John rushed to her but he startled her and she almost blew him up but she only injured his leg and to stop the bleeding she froze him and took him to the infirmary so she could examine his wound, the Professor came into the room as April bandaged him up and he wanted to help her control her powers more so she could have full control of them.

Original X-Men

As a teenager, April leaves her parents to attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters with her sister and, using the codename "Molecule", becomes one of the first female X-Man, joining the team on its first mission against Magneto. With the X-Men, she battles the team's earliest and most enduring threats, including Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Juggernaut, and the Sentinels. When Jean leaves to attend Metro College, April stays at the Institute and had college-level courses on medicine, April got A's and was very talented and the Professor told her that she had a very bright future in medicine. Back with the X-Men, she helps end the Factor Three conspiracy, with her sister's help. It is also revealed that she secretly aided Professor Xavier in his preparation to thwart the Z'Nox invasion. While on a mission that took them into space, the blocks in April's mind are destroyed because the X-Men are observed by the Phoenix Force and April's full potential of becoming a mutant who controlled all molecular powers which is drawn to April's unlimited potential. April envisions her transformation into this but within an instant she cannot remember what she foresaw.

Romance

At the beginning of the series, April and John harbor a mutual crush for a long time but neither is aware of the other's feelings (though the readers are made aware early on) and both are too shy to make a move, April mentions to Jean that she should stop being so shy and tell Scott how she feels and Jean tells April the same thing. Jean once has a date with one of her classmates, but he angers her and she goes on a date with John. For a while, Angel has feelings for April and has a fling for April which lead to some bad moments between him and John sometimes. When April begins taking her college-level courses in medicine, April becomes to busy with homework and essays that she barely has time to be with John; however, April and John later date openly. At one point, Angel seems to have some romantic feelings for her and once forces a kiss on her but she blows him out of a window and freezes him in mid-air. April and John's relationship takes a huge step forward when the X-Men temporarily disband. April works as a model who models in swimsuits, casual clothes, and dresses John works as vice president at a big firm. After the X-Men reform, there are hints that they are more intimately involved, but the relationship is growing more and more intimate. When April's powers manifest she goes out of control and John worries about her more and more. After they are separated in the Savage Land and each thinks the other is dead, April tries to convince the Jean/Phoenix that Jean is still in there the Phoenix tells her that Jean is dead, April tries to get to Cyclops and Torch but she is unable and Torch thinks about her and soon thinks that there is a chance April is alive. Yet upon their reunion, to fight Proteus at Muir Island, the passion and relationship is rekindled and their relationship grows more stronger as John promises nothing will ever separate them again. Soon after they start back dating, April and John are introduced Logan is introduced as part of the "second generation" he becomes drawn to Jean and then April (because April resembles Jean like they are twins) and harbors a secret love for them. Through the series, Logan generally respects April's choice to be with John, and the two share a deep friendship which, despite a powerful emotional and physical attraction, is never consummated.

Second Genesis

The original team of X-Men is held captive by Krakoa the Living Island, so Xavier recruits a new team of X-Men to help save the others from Krakoa. Most of the team's senior members then leave, including Jean. April and Scott feels that he belongs only with the X-Men, and this upsets Jean. Jean, however, she remains in contact with the X-Men and becomes closer with April and best friends with Ororo Munroe. Even though April is upset with Jean for leaving she doesn't want her and Jean to grow apart, April talks to Jean daily

Molecule

While April and John are having a romantic evening in a fancy diner, she, Wolverine, Jean, Scott, and Banshee, are abducted by Sentinels. They are taken to an abandoned S.H.I.E.L.D. orbital platform under the command of the anti-mutant activist Steven Lang, who is plotting to unleash a new generation of Sentinels. The other X-Men, with the aid of Dr. Peter Corbeau, rescue them. During the space station's destruction, the X-Men find that their shuttle has been damaged in an earlier fight with the Sentinels. The X-Men decide that someone must stay at the controls and pilot the ship, while everyone else remains in the shuttle's heavily-shielded life cell. Knowing no one else could survive long enough to pilot the shuttle to safety, Jean uses her telepathy on Dr. Corbeau to learn how to pilot the shuttle and her telekinesis to block the radiation as she pilots the ship back to Earth and April and Jean pilot the ship. Jean's telekinetic shields give way under the onslaught of the intense radiation. The strain of holding the solar radiation at bay with her powers April and her psychic shields Xavier placed in their mind as a child, and April assumes her ultimate potential as a molecular controller, becoming an entity of pure thought. The shuttle crashes into a bay, and April flies in the air above the bay and reforms her body and emerges from the water. Taking the code name of Molecule like she did at a younger age, April's molecular powers are now vastly stronger, and she manifests a fiery energy aura in the shape of herself whenever she uses her powers to their fullest extent. Phoenix and Molecule healed the M'Kraan Crystal to keep the universe from being destroyed.

Inhumans

After her transformation into Molecule, April and Cyclops tries to get Jean to rejoin the team. Jean angrily refuses saying that she isn't a teenager any more and can control her new powers, April tries to convince her more but Jean still refuses angrily. When Nightcrawler is held on trial by the Inhumans, Professor X contacts Jean and April to aid the X-Men in saving him. April, Jean, and the X-Men arrive at Attilan where she senses the anger and fury of all the Inhumans. This angers her and she lashes out against them causing a giant battle. Gorgon creates an avalanche threatening to destroy Attilan forcing Jean to shield the entire palace with a telekinetic wall. April freezes it and Jean then transforms the wall into a funnel with Black Bolt letting out a powerful scream through the funnel which destroys the avalanche. With peace between the X-Men and Inhumans they journey back home with John holding April saying she should be more careful and April agrees, leading for them to say he doesn't want anything to happen to April and April tells Jean she doesn't know her anymore. Jean then replies back that she loves her and out of anyone she should know her, April almost cries and asks her what happened to her and Jean replies saying that maybe it was destiny and if it's meant to be, maybe she can be saved.

Dark Molecule

April and John go shopping as April is kidnapped by sentinels and she gets so angry her powers turn her to the Dark Side and she joins Jean as Jean becomes "Dark Phoenix" because of Jason Wyngarde tampering with Jean's mind, convincing her she's a Victorian aristocrat (and the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club) and that he is her husband. She turns on her friends, but then April loses control of her powers and becomes the Dark Molecule, attacking her friends and teammates and destroying a populated solar system's star with Jean. April and Jean regains their sanity and Jean tries to commit suicide rather than risk becoming the Dark Phoenix again and killing anyone else, April tries stop her but stuns her and she is unable. April mourns Jean and stays in her room depressed as John comforts her. After killing herself on the moon, Jean's soul awakens in the afterlife and is dressed in a White Phoenix costume. Death, itself, greets Jean and tries to help her understand the Phoenix before fragments of her soul are sent back to Earth, April senses this but doesn't understand it and the Professor convinces her that she is starting to have psychic and telekinetic powers manifest into her, April also gained the power of flight.

Jean's Return

The Avengers find a strange pod lying on the bottom of Jamaica bay, which they send to Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. The pod cracks open and Jean emerges, with no memories from the time she flew the shuttle until she hatched from the cocoon, but the truth of Phoenix is now revealed. April tries to sense where Jean is and locates her and goes to her location. While dying upon the shuttle, Jean was, in fact, approached by a cosmic psychic entity known as the Phoenix Force, which duplicated Jean's form and merged with a portion of her soul/consciousness, while Jean herself was sealed in a pod at the bottom of the bay to heal. April goes to the bottom of the bay with Jean and stays with her until she fully heals. It was the Phoenix Force which became the Dark Phoenix and committed those evil actions, hence Jean was absolved of them and April and Jean went on to the found X-Factor with her original X-Men teammates. Jean is now without her telepathy, but her telekinesis is much more powerful, April worries of her sister and Jean tells her not to because she will be ok. The former X-Men are contacted and April and Jean reunites with them. April learns that the Phoenix Force merged with Rachel Summers, her niece from an alternate timeline and Jean's daughter. Jean initially rejected Rachel because of this, as she felt Rachel's existence was a constant reminder of the dark future she came from and feared could still come to pass. April disagreed with Jean's rejection of Rachel and was there when Rachel needed her. During the time in which Jean is thought dead, Scott meets a pilot named Madelyne Pryor. They marry and gave birth to a son, Nathan Christopher Charles Summers. It upsets April about Scott and Madelyne but she knows Jean wouldn't want her to be and April has twin children with John herself name John Charles Summers, Jr and Samantha Jean Summers. When April and Scott hears Jean is alive, Scott leaves Pryor. Shortly afterward, he and April joins Jean and the other founding X-Men to create X-Factor. Early in X-Factor's career, Jean first battles the mutants' nemesis, Apocalypse.

Inferno

When April finds out that Scott calls Madelyne to try to persuade her to come to New York, April thinks it is a good idea because Christopher will need his mother. When he receives no answer, he assumes that his wife had left him, April worries about Pryor but has to support her own children, April has a vision of the future when Rachel, Christopher, John, and Sam are working together trying to stop evil mutants, this vision she keeps a secret. In truth, Mr. Sinister kidnapped Madelyne and Nathan. Mr. Sinister had created Madelyne from Jean Grey's DNA, believing the offspring of Jean Grey and Scott Summers would be a genetically superior mutant who possessed incredible powers. With her purpose fulfilled, Sinister turns Madelyne over to the Marauders. The X-Men rescue her and she joins them. Wanting to rescue her son from Mr. Sinister, Madelyne makes a pact with demons, and using her despair, the goblins make her their queen, driving her insane. Madelyne attempts to sacrifice Nathan in a ritual that will bring the demons of Limbo into the world. Madelyne dies in a climactic battle with Jean after she links their minds and wills herself to die—hoping the link will kill Jean as well, April tells Jean that if Madelyne gives Jean any problems then tell her and the Professor so they can work on destroying her link to Jean's mind. Madelyne dies, and then the piece of Jean's consciousness that had merged with the Phoenix Force (which had migrated into Madelyne Pryor upon the death of the Phoenix) returned to Jean, granting her all the memories of both Madelyne and the Dark Phoenix. Jean now also contained a spark of the Phoenix Force but would later expel it while helping an alien world fend off a Celestial. Her telepathy had also been restored to her by the villain Psynapse, April becomes glad that Jean has her telepathy back and is proud that she was with the Phoenix and not Dark Phoenix.

Gold Team

April and Jean becomes a member of the X-Men's "Gold Team" led by Storm when X-Factor joins with Xavier. When her physical body dies in a Sentinel attack, Jean survives by transferring her psyche into the body of the comatose Emma Frost, April visits Emma's body in hopes that she will awaken possessed by Jean. While in Emma's body, Jean uses telekinesis, an ability that Emma never used. Jean is later restored to her original body with the help of Xavier and Forge, April welcomes Jean back into her own body with welcome arms. April is instrumental in saving Wolverine's life when Magneto rips the adamantium from his skeleton. Wolverine then tells April that he loves her and she tells him she wants only to be friends. Using her telekinesis, Jean holds Logan's body together and supports his healing factor. Later on after the death of Colossus' sister April and Jean greatly comforts Jubilee showing a caring relationship between the two. April tells Jubilee and Colossus that if they need her don't be afraid to ask and April tells Jubilee that what Colossus could use is her comfort. When Sabretooth comes to the mansion April once more comforts Jubilee as well as confronting Xavier about his decision. Jean and April then confronts Sabretooth and badly beats him while attacking him with their powers. With Cyclops and John, April and Jean later encounters Stryfe for the first time. Stryfe kidnaps the four and tortures them with the four later on escaping. They soon discover that Stryfe is in fact a clone of Cable, Scott's son. Around this time Jean and Cyclops reconcile as Jean noticed that Cyclops was greatly attracted to Psylocke and was often thinking of her. April read's Cyclops' mind and keeps this to herself. Around this time April and Jean also places mental blocks in the mind of Jessica Jones to keep her from psychic trauma and influence from enemies like the Purple Man.

Marriage

John proposed to April, she answered quickly with a yes the and the day they married Scott proposed to Jean, but she declined because the Phoenix Force kept haunting her, April was saddened because of this but she was happy she was married to the man of her dreams. Scott told Jean he would wait for her. Later, Jean proposes to Scott at Thanksgiving and he agrees with the two announcing it at dinner time, April laughs because Jean proposed to him instead of it being the other way around but she was happy for them. At the wedding she apologizes to Rachel and welcomes her into her life permanently. Jean is saddened that Wolverine won't attend, but unknown to her, he watches from a distance. Scott and Jean get married, with Jean sharing a dance with Xavier while telekinetically holding him in the air, and April shedding tears saying it seems like yesterday we were little girls who were protective of each other and Jean replies saying yeah but we are women now. The two bid good-bye to the X-Men, and Jean throws the flowers, which are caught by Rogue, at April's wedding the flowers were caught by Aly.

Honeymoon

During they're honeymoon they are taken by Mr. Sinister and held there so he can turn brainwash them and make them join him in his evil quest, but his plans were ambushed when the X-Men arrived and they saved April and John. Mr. Sinister battled the X-Men after Aly wounded him April wounded him also but his team defeated the X-Men and but not Aly because she wasn't fully in control of her powers but she hurt them all before collapsing. Mr. Sinister took April and John and they flew away with Mr. Sinister laughing evilly. By the time the X-Men awaken the Professor arrives trying to make contact with April but she doesn't respond, Mr. Sinister continues his evil plans until Aly comes and defeats them and leaves with April and John.

Power Switch

During a battle with the aforementioned villain, Scott and John merged with the immortal mutant. Jean and Psylocke switch powers, and Jean adds Psylocke's telepathic powers to her own telepathy, as well as her shadow astral-form, while Psylocke gets Jean's telekinesis, April is shocked to learn about this. Jean begins to manifest fiery Phoenix raptor effects as the physical manifestation of her powers, this worries April completely and she tries to help her sister. Jean also uses the Phoenix Force to witness humanity's possible evolution into Eternity and April and Jean converses with Eternity itself when Prosh recruits them to help stop the Stranger from destroying the universe. Jean learns that Cyclops is alive, and searches for him with her April, John, and stepson Cable. April and Jean uses her increased telepathic powers to separate Cyclops' and Apocalypse's spirits.

Cyclops and Jean's Marital Problems

After April and John find out about Jean and Scott's marital problems April attempts to talk to Jean and John attempts to talk to Scott, After hearing Jean wants to sleep with Logan she was angry but glad he refused and when Scott turned to Emma Frost and she took advantage of him this angers him as well. April finds out that Scott and Emma have a telepathic extramarital affair, she and Jean confront Scott. Scott claims that he did nothing wrong and April, Jean, and John disagree and April and Jean demands that Emma explain herself, but Emma only jeers and insults them, leaving April angry about to blow Emma up. Enraged, Jean and April unleashes the Phoenix power and Molecule power on Emma, rifling through her saddest memories and forcing her to confront the truth about herself. Later, one of the Stepford Cuckoos shatters Emma's diamond form. Beast, under the belief that Emma can be saved, attempts to rebuild her from the shattered diamond. April and Jean arrives and informs Hank that despite her malicious nature, Emma had truly fallen in love with Cyclops, and understanding that Emma can offer Scott something Jean can't, she uses her powers to fuse the diamond pieces of Emma's body together again and revives her.

Jean's Death

Later, tricked by Xorn, April, Wolverine, and Phoenix are propelled towards the sun while on Asteroid M. About to die, Wolverine reluctantly stabs Phoenix so she will not have to die an agonizing death in the intense solar heat, but he saves April because she wasn't as near death as Phoenix. Seconds before they collide with the sun, the Phoenix Force manifests within Jean, and she saves them all three of them. She tells him that by killing her, he helped her release the "Phoenix Consciousness". Arriving on Earth, they battled Xorn (who had revealed himself to be Magneto but would later be retconned into an imposter), who then mortally injures Phoenix by transferring a large amount of electro-magnetic energy to her brain, inducing a "planetary-scale stroke."April injured Xorn and Jean was dying. As Jean dies in Scott and April's arms, she tells them to live. It was revealed later that before she died, Jean created a holempathic matrix crystal for Rachel, April, and her niece, and nephew, and imprinted it with her essence so that, no matter what happened to her physically, her soul would always be with her. Again, April was depressed over her sister's death, though not as depressed as before and she told John that she knew that Jean would come back, something in her heart tells her so.

Here Comes Tomorrow

April, upset with Scott Summers refusal of Emma Frost's offer to reopen Xavier's Institute after Jean's death creates a future timeline in which Hank McCoy reopens the school. Under the pressure, he takes the drug "Kick", which is revealed to be the aerosol form of the villain Sublime, and April tries to stop him but is too late, Sublime possesses Hank McCoy and drives him insane and April tries to help him. 150 years later, the near-immortal Beast tries to resurrect Phoenix and Molecule and use their power to destroy every life-form on Earth, except for the creatures created by Sublime itself, only to be defeated by Jean and April. Molecule and Phoenix then carries out their disinfection and absorbs the future universe into the "White Hot Room", a higher plane of reality with other Phoenix hosts and 'home' to the consciousness of the Phoenix Force. April wears a white variation of her Molecule outfit and is chosen to be "White Molecule of the Crown" and Jean wears a white variation of her Phoenix outfit and is revealed to be "a White Phoenix of the Crown". Jean reaches back in time and telepathically urges Scott to live. Instead of refusing Emma and leaving the institute, Scott chooses to be with Emma and keep the Xavier Institute alive, April is happy that Scott finds romance and she cries as she sees the memories of her and John and how happy they were, and she gets more saddened because he died but she is happy he lived a full life.

Endsong

The Shi'ar resurrect Molecule and the Phoenix Force in an attempt to destroy them while they are weak. Molecule and the Phoenix flee to earth and resurrects Jean in an attempt to make itself whole. Wolverine arrives and the two battle until they find themselves at the North Pole while April try to break it up, when Wolverine sees April he tries to kiss her but she rejects his kiss and tells him she still wants to be just friends, that she will resurrect John. Wolverine repeatedly kills Jean, weakening her and allowing her to gain control of herself and imprison herself in an iceberg, April get's angry with Jean's decision but she know Jean had a reason. The Phoenix leaves Jean and takes control of Emma Frost, however Emma is not powerful enough and starts to burn up from controlling it. The X-Men, including April, free Jean from her prison with her ripping the Phoenix out from Emma. Jean reveals herself to be one being with the Phoenix saying they are the same and the two merge once more. This causes her to become Dark Phoenix, but Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos link all the past and present X-Men together to show their love for Jean. This causes Jean to become the White Phoenix and she saves the X-Men from the Shi'ar before returning to the White Hot Room.

X-Men Messiah Complex

Since the events of M-Day, when most of mutantkind was depowered and no new mutant births occur, mutantkind is on the verge of extinction. Cerebro then detects a new mutant baby born in Cooperstown, Alaska. When Cerebro detects her, a tremendous outburst of power from the child partially destroys it. As the child has aged and grown, she has developed features distinctively similar to April and Jean Grey, including crimson red hair, and green eyes. As seen in Cable #5, a closeup of the baby's eyes show twin reflections of the Phoenix emblem in them.

Sisterhood of Mutants

April learns that Jean's clone Madelyne Pryor has reappeared in her new alias as the Red Queen. The Red Queen forms a Sisterhood of Mutants, consisting of Lady Mastermind, her sister, Martinique Jason, Spiral, Chimera, Lady Deathstrike and a brainwashed Psylocke, attacking the X-Men at their new base in Graymalkin. Lady Mastermind manages to hold Emma Frost within a psychic trap, however in the Astral Plane Emma is confronted by a woman who has a striking resemblance to April and Jean Grey. Emma calls her Maddie but the woman says that she isn't Maddie but often confused to be her. April and Jean then uses her powers to free Emma from the psychic trap before disappearing. The Red Queen's goal is revealed to be her taking a lock of Jean and April's hair that belongs to Wolverine. The Red Queen uses the lock of hair as a talisman to locate Jean's deceased body and arrives back at Westchester where she attempts to resurrect Jean and April's body and possess it. It is soon discovered that Domino switched the bodies in Jean's grave and as any body besides Jean and April's cannot hold Madelyne, the Red Queen is sucked inside with an unknown fate.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

April Grey-Danger is one of the most powerful mutants who ever lived. She has great control over her incredibly powers and abilities. After April became one with her powers, April became the master of molecules and she controlled all molecular powers.

Molecular Immobilization: April used this power to stop time, slow down molecules, or freeze an object/person, the limit of this power is unknown but the time the person/object will stay frozen would be between 45–55 seconds, and when she first got her powers she could only freeze what was in her area or what was in the room she was in (if she was in a room and she stopped time she couldn't freeze what was behind the door) until she had all her powers then she had no limits to her powers.

Molecular Combustion: April would use this power to speed up molecules, blow up things, or make them explode, she never ha limits to this power but not every mutant was vulnerable to this power, if April blew something up then the particles wouldn't land on her, like Aly, but until she had all of her powers she couldn't blow up the X-Men's most powerful allies

Telepathy: She can manipulate the minds of others and even higher order animals within a vast, potentially limitless radius. Her notable powers include:

  • Telepathic Defense: She can manifest her telepathy in a number of defensive ways.
    • Telepathic Cloak: She can mask her presence and the use of her abilities from being detected by other psions and psychic entities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well. Cloaking via telepathy is not perfect and powerful psis may notice and 'see' through this ability.
    • Cloak Mind: Ability to rearrange the “mental engrams” of mutants so their distinctive mutant thought patterns cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises or by other telepaths.
  • Psionic Shield: Ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others minds.
  • Telepathic Illusions: She can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
    • Telepathic Camouflage: She can alter the apparent physical appearance of herself and other people by altering the perceptions of those around her. This can go so far as to make other people believe that the camouflaged people are not there (invisible). A limit, if one exists, is only imposed by the number of people she is trying to fool, not the number of people she is camouflaging.
  • Telepathic Manipulation: She can manipulate other people's minds easily, achieving a variety of effects.
    • Mind Control: She can control the thoughts and actions of others.
    • Mind Possession: She can possess the mind of another, and use that being's body as her own.
    • Personality Alteration: She can alter the minds of others by force of will, permanently changing their personality partially or entirely.
    • Mental Paralysis: She can induce temporary mental or physical paralysis.
    • Mental Amnesia: She can erase any awareness of particular memories or cause total amnesia.
    • Mind Transferral: She can transfer both her mind and powers into other host bodies if her own physical body could be somehow killed.
    • Induce Pain: Can also induce mental pain merely by touching the brow of her victim.
    • Heal Trauma: The ability to erase a person’s memories and to heal mental trauma through “psychic surgery,” the power to stimulate or deaden the pain and pleasure centers in a persons brain.
    • Mental Sedating: Can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them.
    • Neural Jumpstart: She can increase the speed of neural signals in the brain, she could increase another mutants powers to incredible levels, but the effect was only temporary.
    • Dilate Power: Ability to place “psychic inhibitors” in the minds of mutant adversaries to prevent them from using their powers.
  • Mind Link: Ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.
  • Psionic Blasts: She can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and turning someone brain-dead.
  • Astral Projection: She can project her astral form from her body onto astral planes or the physical planes. In the physical plane she can travel in astral form over vast distances. In the astral plane, she can mentally create psionic objects and manipulate the aspects of her environment. She can communicate with others astrally through her own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others.
  • Mental Detection: She can sense the presence of another superhuman mutant within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
  • Psionic Firebird: She can manifest her telepathy as a psionic firebird; whose claws could inflict both physical and mental damage.
  • Telekinetic Sensitivity: That lets her feel the texture of objects she has a telekinetic hold on, feel when other objects come into contact with them, and probe them at a molecular level to identify if they contain alien materials or feel when two things which she has a telekinetic “hold” upon are similarly composed.
